- setting up the Experts' Panel (15 prominent scientists) - developing images, texts - establishing the international website - set-up and announcement of national programmes
- 14-18 year old secondary school students collect information from a wide spectrum of sources and create their own websites/CD-ROMs. They enter the competition in which the national winners are invited to the main event
- international late evening TV-event - TV-links between several sites - central event in Geneva, others in planetaria etc. - young winners meet scientists - scenario-driven programme with surprise effects - follow-up (report, recommendations)
