Student edu-network

All the students use now the Nacka student net for e-mail and file storage. The network can be reached from home by the Internet
www.edu.nacka.se with personal id and password.

ISN pre-school students were part of the Six-Years-Choir at the Nacka Culture Centre in March.

Students from yr 6-9 can play volley ball with coach free of charge on Tuesdays in Fisksätra Sports hall.

End od Term Ceremonies on the 8th and 9th of June

Grade 9 had the privilege of having their own End of Term Ceremony on Thursday, the 8th of June in Fisksätra Church. The priest, ABT leader and the Principal gave their short speeches. The students performed, some read poems, some sang and some played instruments. Lions delivered a book price and MYP and Personal Project diplomas were given out. Traditionally the ceremony ended with the song "Sommartider".

The other grades, 0-8 had three separate ceremonies on Friday the 9th of June. The programmes consisted of speeches, price deliveries and student performances of high standard. Medals for the best sports results from the spring sports day were also delivered. Everybody could join the classic "Den blomstertid". The spirit was very high and warm in each of the ceremonies.

We wish a nice and relaxing summer break for every one!

Grade 4 played for the national final game in Chess tournament "Schackfyran"!

After two major competitions in chess, first the start in Globen and then the district final in City Hall, Blue Hallen in Stockholm, ISN grade 4 had proceeded to the national final!

The national final in Chess tournament "Schackfyran" was played in Västerås on the 13th May. ISN team unfortunately lost a lot of points due to our misinterpretation of rules about the number of players. The final placement was 20 out of 36 chess-playing teams. It was anyway a good placement! Next year we know something more of the chess-tournament. We congratulate all the players and thank the mentors and parents involved!

Shadow figure theatre created at ISN

ISN together with puppet museum Marionettmuseet and the Fisksätra library had given an opportunity for students from yr 4 and 5 to create shadow figure theatre. On Tuesdays and Thursdays between 15-16.30 hrs the students had created shadow dolls and played the scenes at the ISNs school library.
In April and beginning of May the shadow figure theatre was be performed to the public, fist at ISN and then at Dieselverkstaden, Nacka Culture Centre.
Lattjo Lajban team from TV 4 made some shooting of the Shadow theatre children and showed it twice on tv in May.

Grease in a multicultural way

Grade 9s has trained musical Grease during the fall with their drama and music teachers at ISN. On Thursday, 15th December it was time for all the classes to see the result which was full of energy, amusing and different. ISN's Grease reflects the youth's problems with love with similarities from the 50's up to our days.

The students will have performances at Nacka culture centre Dieselverkstaden in January 2006. The public performance will take place on 25th of January at 7pm. Thursday 26th and Friday 27th are reserved for school performances.

Lucia Train on the 13th of December

The Lucia of the year from yr 8 came traditionally with a candle crown on her head. This time she was followed not only by chorus girls but also by a long line of chorus boys with star hats from the same class. The performing elves were from grade 9 and 2. The Lucia train and performance was highly appreciated by the audience.

Community Service for yr 6-8 w46

Grades 6-8 were out in the community for their annual Community Service Days w 46. Students had an assignment to seek an opportunity to volunteer help to someone, an institution, an organisation or a commercial enterprise. Examples have included assisting in daycare, amongst the aged or Save the Children Fund. All the students had a common Theme day at school on Friday, 18th November.

ISN School Spirit Day

On Friday morning, Oct 7th, all the classes were gathered in the Entrance hall to celebrate ISN School Spirit Day. The idea was to create a tradition and feel the ISN spirit through togetherness and student performances. Everybody was encouraged to wear ISN colours, blue and white.

The Spirit Day started with the School's own song "We've got the whole world at our school". After the speeches by the principals there was a medal ceremony for MYP classes' School jog. The staff and students from different classes told what they liked ISN. Music and dance performances followed and finally the PYP Cheer Leader group had their show with pompoms.

School Jog 2005

The annual School Jog was organized during the 13-14th September.
First it was time for all PYP classes to run on September 13th. The PYP students' school jog culminated with medal ceremonies in the

Gym Hall.

MYP students had windy weather on their school jog day on the 14th September. The result of the school jog is graded for grade 8 and 9 and is worth a good effort. All the students participated in the school jog - running or walking.

Student Council for MYP

The members of the Student Council for grade 6-9 are selected and there are totally 17 members in the council. The students have among other things discussed the issue of School Nurse's opening hours and got with minor changes in opening hours it easier for the students to visit her.

The MYP students have voted for music in the entrance hall. Alternative weeks music is now played from different popular radio channels.
