Scholarship Foundation
The scholarship fund
was founded
in 1996 with the assistance of donations. The fund has as an intention to
encourage and create an openness between cultures and to promote
learning. The concept of such a fund at compulsory school level
dependent upon voluntary private donations is unique in Sweden.
Students in classes 7-9 voluntarily
participate in an essay competition. The awarded scholarship allows a
student or students to enjoy the opportunity of visiting and attending
an international school abroad for two weeks. Previous recipients of the
scholarship have visited USA, New York and California, Madrid (2
students), Amsterdam, Brussels (2 students), Paris and Italy.
The
Scholarship
Board members has the following process in selecting the winning
essay:

All essays are given a code number.
- The
Board reads all the coded essays.
- The
Board grades the essays on a scale from 1-5.
- Three
finalists are chosen by the Board.
- After
the finalists are selected, the essays are decoded.
- Finalists
are announced at school on December then they are invited to an
individual interview (in English) with the Board

The winner is
announced at winter break ceremony.
