| • | Physical examination of pupils, health and care guidance and for vaccinating pupils in accordance with basic health care programmes. Furthermore they are responsible for support to and monitoring of pupils with specific special needs. |
| • | The nurses give advice, some medical assistance and casualty care when required. |
| • | The nurses are a source of information and participate in teaching with regard to health questions, lifestyle discussions and personal hygiene and care. More often than not in co-operation with other school personnell such as teachers and counsellors. |
The doctors of the team are specialist pediatricians, GPs or have school doctor training. They bear the responsibility for the school health care service and the unit as a whole. Their work includes:
| • | Thorough medical examinations of pupils on starting school as seven year olds followed by medical controls and screening activities. |
| • | The doctors make medical diagnoses, treat and with need remit pupils for further examinations by specialists. The doctors write attests to other authorities when requested to do so. |
The school nurses and doctors work according to strict confidentiality regulations. At ISN the school nurse has the reception open 2,5 days a week. She can be reached by telephone +46 8 718 83 12 where you can leave a message and she calls back.
The school doctors attends the reception once in a month and is also to be reached on the same telephone number. If desired, parents are welcome to make appointments with either the nurse or the doctor.
