Early
language development - a lecture by Veli Tuomela
An audience of 50
persons
who work with the early language development with preschool and
fritids children in Fisksätra attended a highly appreciated
lecture given by Doctor of Philosophy Veli Tuomela on the 13th
March in Fisksätra library.
The
focus was in following questions:
- How can preschool develop a child's language skills?
- What is the reason that the methods, practical hints and
materials are insufficient.
- What do you need to take into consideration with children with
a different mother tongue than Swedish?
-Why are all the staff members at preschool language developers?
Early language
learning is invaluable and every moment should be taken into
consideration.

Nacka Språk och Utbildningscentrum is the centre for Nacka’s
mother tongue teachers
Vice principal Graham Brodie and trade-union
representative Irena Kolundzic may present 23 of those who work
with mother tongue teaching in Fisksätra.
This occupational group can be used as a working model to better
cooperation between pupil, parents/guardians, school and
society.
Unambiguous
research shows that early language training in a person’s mother
tongue supports in the long run every other type of learning
