Computer Labs and IT at School

Main building <<
Specific Subject Rooms >>

The big computer room is now bigger and lighter than ever and is used by classes.
The small computer room will be used as multimedia lab during the spring term.

The  main computer room is now equipped with thin clients and a pc that can be connected to a portable projector and surround sound system. The small computer room is for the moment used as a multimedia lab by classes working with sound and moving pictures.

The students are active in searching information on the Internet databases and using various software with sound and picture for their project presentations. The range of users in the labs is from yr 1 to yr 9.

ISN works in an IT based school environment in a municipal student network. Each student has own login and 100 MB of storage space for school documents.
Students also have an e-mail account and space for a web site in the student net www.edu.nacka.se.
The student can reach all school documents and e-mail from home via the Internet with the student's personal login and password.

ISN has been one of the pilot schools who uses SkolportalN, a municipal portal which offers opportunities for better communication and file storage.
A brand new portal version is already launched. The ISN school intranet will be transferred to the new portal version during the spring term 2008.
Each student and class will have a page of their own and parents have an opportunity see the child's results with web access. The students and teachers will be trained how to use the portal in the beginning of the next term.

ISN is one of the ENIS-schools (European Network of Innovative Schools) which use IT in education and learning and works on an international level.
