Admission routines to International School in Nacka (ISN)

ISN is a public school within Nacka municipality. Nacka municipality makes great efforts to provide freedom of choice, IT programs, and accessibility for its citizens. One of the initiatives is Nacka24 which is a web-based program for, among other things, choice of schools and childcare.

For you this means that you need to apply through a citizen account and register your school selection/change of school at www.nacka24.nacka.se .  This applies to all those who apply for school in Nacka municipality, even those who live in another municipality or abroad.

If you are interested in a place at ISN, we ask you to follow the guidelines below, so that we can process your application.

Starting admission dates for new students Spring 2007 are: January 15th, February 5th, March 5th,
April 10th, May 7th and June 4th

·          Go to www.nacka24.nacka.se and choose the English version

·          Click on the link ”Apply for a Citizen Account”

·          Fill in the personal and address information according to the instructions. The guardian fills in personal and adress information according to the instructions. Further on you register your child's information. If you live in Nacka you do not need to fill in the child's information since it is connected to the guardian.

·          When the application is registered, you will be sent a user name and password within approximately one week to the adress that you have given. Important: Make sure that your name is on the mailbox/door of your residence for proper delivery. If you are resident abroad and do not have a Swedish adress we ask you to wait with the application in Nacka24 until you have arrived to Sweden and know your adress.

·          When you receive your login details by post, go back into www.nacka24.nacka.se

·          Log in (log in is in the upper right hand corner)

·          State your selection according to the instructions. You must choose 3 schools and our school is abbreviated ISN, situated in the area called Saltsjöbaden/Fisksätra. Your other choices can be random.

·          If needed, you can also select child care, mother tongue tuition or language elective (from 6^th grade)

·          If you have special requests, write these in the message box

School selection is made during the school selection period (Jan-Feb 2007) and only applies for the coming school year, 2007/2008.

Change of school is made outside of the school selection period, can be selected with a date for the desired change.

The school selection period 2007 is the 11^th - 31^st of January for the school year 2007/2008. The offer of a place is sent in the beginning of February and final offer (considering possible changes) is sent in the end of January to all who apply within the school selection period.

We receive a message by e-mail that you have applied to ISN. If you have not had an interview, you will be called to one. We really want to meet you and your child to discuss class placement etc. After visiting us you will receive a message with a placement offer on your personal page in Nacka24 web site. After your acceptance we will send out a definitive decision to the same page. We will naturally keep contact with you regarding start date etc.  ISN is a municiapl school and therefore we are not allowed to have a queue. You may leave an application of interest if you plan on admission to our school in the future.

A municipal school means that it is free of charge as long as you and your child have a residence/work permit and are nationally registered here in Sweden with a complete personal number. (Swedish social security number).
 

The following need to be clear/finished before we can offer your child a place at our school

Your application in Nacka24 must be made, meaning that you have applied for the citizen account, logged in and applied to ISN and that we have received your application.
Your family must have a residence or work permit.
You must apply for a Swedish personal number for your child at the Tax Authority office, sometimes it can take some time to receive your number, and we understand that. We wish to see a copy of the recept, showing that you have applied for a personal number. You receive those at the Tax Authority.
If you are a resident in another municipality than Nacka, we need your home municipality's approval that they accept your child's school attendance at Nacka municipality.  


Documents we want you to bring

Papers, reportcards, grades from your previous attended school.
Vaccination card and health journal.

Admission can be delayed for students coming from other countries outside EU. The school nurse must meet the student and make sure all vaccinations are completed and eventually get some injections before the student can start.
